The Role
We are looking for an experienced Process Shift Incharge to oversee and manage shift operations in our grain-based distillery (ENA production). The role involves ensuring smooth operation across liquefaction, fermentation, distillation, evaporation, and utilities, while maintaining production targets, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control end-to-end plant operations during the shift
- Ensure smooth functioning of Milling, Liquefaction, Fermentation, Distillation, Evaporation & Dryer
- Achieve production targets and yield optimization (L/MT)
- Monitor key parameters like:
- Temperature, pressure, flow rates
- Alcohol %, RS, pH
- Handle process deviations and troubleshooting in real-time
- Coordinate with utility, boiler, and power plant teams
- Ensure proper shift log entries and reporting
- Maintain safety, housekeeping, and SOP compliance
- Lead and supervise shift operators and technicians
Qualifications
Must have
- 5–10 years in distillery / ethanol / ENA plant operations
- Experience in grain-based distillery preferred
- Hands-on exposure to continuous fermentation & multi-column distillation
Qualities
- Strong understanding of process parameters and controls
- Experience in troubleshooting fermentation & distillation issues
- Familiarity with DCS / SCADA systems
- Good leadership and shift management skills
- Data-driven decision making
- Ability to work in rotational shifts
