The Role
We are looking for an experienced Boiler Shift Incharge to manage and supervise boiler and steam generation operations during shift. The role is critical for ensuring continuous steam supply to process, turbine, and utilities while maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boiler systems (CFBC/AFBC/other) during shift
- Ensure uninterrupted steam supply to process and turbine (TG)
- Monitor key parameters:
- Steam pressure & temperature
- Drum level & pressure
- Feed water flow
- Bed temperature & windbox pressure
- Control coal feeding system (multiple feeders) and combustion efficiency
- Monitor and maintain:
- Deaerator performance
- Air flow and draft system
- Coordinate with:
- Turbine/Power section
- Process plant (liquefaction, distillation, etc.)
- Handle start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations
- Ensure proper shift logging and reporting in DCS/manual logs
- Maintain safety, housekeeping, and statutory compliance
Must have
- 4-8 years in industrial plant electrical operations
- Experience in distillery / chemical / power plant preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years in supervisory/shift handling role
Qualities
- Strong knowledge of boiler operation & combustion control
- Familiarity with DCS operation
- Ability to troubleshoot:
- Pressure fluctuations
- Bed temperature issues
- Fuel/air imbalance
- Leadership skills to manage shift manpower
