The Role

We are seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to monitor and control boiler operations through the Distributed Control System (DCS). The role involves maintaining stable boiler performance, ensuring continuous steam supply, and coordinating with field operators for safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor boiler through DCS/SCADA system
  • Control and maintain:
    • Boiler pressure, temperature, drum level
    • Steam flow and feed water flow
    • Fuel feeding and combustion parameters
  • Monitor and optimize:
    • Air-fuel ratio and combustion efficiency
    • Bed temperature and draft system (for AFBC/CFBC boilers)
  • Coordinate with field boiler operators for adjustments and inspections
  • Handle:
    • Alarms, trips, and interlocks
    • Emergency shutdowns and startups
  • Monitor:
    • Deaerator parameters (level, pressure, temperature)
    • PRDS operation and steam distribution
  • Ensure proper logging of shift data, alarms, and process deviations
  • Support troubleshooting and quick decision-making during abnormal conditions

Qualifications

Must have

  • 3-6 years in Boiler DCS / Control Room operations
  • Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation
  • Experience in AFBC / CFBC boiler systems preferred
  • Experience in distillery / power plant is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of boiler control logic and interlocks
  • Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems
  • Ability to analyze trends and respond quickly
  • Good coordination with field teams
  • Decision-making under pressure
