The Role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage plant accounting, inventory accounting, production-related financial records, statutory documentation and MIS for our grain-based ethanol/ENA distillery.

The role requires close coordination with Production, Stores, Purchase, Sales, Excise, Dispatch, Laboratory and Plant Management to ensure accurate financial and operational records in SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, vouchers, ledgers, receivables and payables in SAP.
  • Maintain accurate plant-wise and department-wise accounting records.
  • Record and reconcile purchases of grain, coal, chemicals, enzymes, yeast, packing materials, spares and other consumables.
  • Monitor inventory receipts, issues, consumption and closing stock through SAP and reconcile with physical stock.
  • Coordinate with Stores for GRN, material issues, stock transfers and inventory reconciliation.
  • Reconcile grain consumption with production records and identify abnormal consumption or variances.
  • Reconcile production and consumption data for Milling, Liquefaction, Fermentation, Distillation, Evaporation, Dryer, Power, Boiler, WTP and ETP/ZLD.
  • Prepare daily/monthly production-cost and consumption MIS.
  • Monitor key cost parameters including grain, coal, chemicals, power, steam, water, packaging and other process costs.
  • Maintain records related to ethanol/ENA production, dispatch, sales and stock reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with the Excise team for required records, documentation and reconciliation.
  • Verify purchase invoices, sales invoices, debit/credit notes and supporting documents.
  • Maintain customer and supplier ledgers and conduct regular reconciliations.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and provide regular reports to Management.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly P&L, balance sheet schedules, cash-flow requirements and management reports.
  • Prepare variance reports comparing actual consumption/cost against budget, standards and previous periods.
  • Identify accounting, inventory or operational discrepancies and report them to Management.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit, statutory requirements and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with statutory/internal auditors and provide required schedules and supporting documents.
  • Ensure timely compliance related to applicable GST, TDS, excise and other statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all SAP and accounting records are updated accurately and within the required timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company financial and commercial information.

Qualifications

  • B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter or equivalent qualification.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, process industry or distillery.
  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP (Business One or S/4HANA) is mandatory.
  • Experience in plant accounting, inventory accounting and cost control preferred.
  • Good understanding of GST, TDS, statutory compliance and audit requirements.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Experience in reconciliation of production, inventory and financial data.
  • Distillery, ethanol, chemical, food-processing or other continuous-process industry experience will be preferred.
